Scott M. Freund, CIMA®, CAIA®, AAMS®

President, Senior Family Wealth Advisor

Scott began his career with a boutique investment bank in Bethesda, MD in 1994, and then in 1996 moved to the private client group at Wheat First Butcher Singer (now Wachovia Securities). In 1999, Scott became a Senior Consultant with the Investment Consulting Services Group of Morgan Stanley. He was one of the first advisors at Morgan Stanley to earn the CIMA designation, and was also a Rule 144 specialist.

Scott joined the Private Bank at Bank of America in 2003 as a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor, dealing not only with individuals and families, but with family offices as well. Working with the gatekeepers of these family offices would serve as a stepping-stone for the foundation of Family Office Research in July, 2005. Family Office Research, a multi-family office, was founded to provide objective advice, and a higher level of customization and customer service for high net worth clients.

His professional designations include the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®), the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA®), and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®).

Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech while also lettering in Football. He grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from Upper St. Clair High School, and now lives in Bethesda, Maryland with wife, Emily and four children, Hanna, Morgan, Cameron and Cade.

Irving C. "Skeets" Lunsford III, ChFC®

Chief Compliance Officer

Skeets is a seasoned financial service executive. He brings an estate planning and risk management background to GCC Family Wealth Management, after having spent 26 years with the Prudential Insurance Company of America and nine years with American General Life & Accident Insurance Company. Skeets began his career in direct sales of wealth protection products such as life insurance, annuities and health insurance. His success led to a career in sales management in which he managed sales offices in several geographic locations. He entered corporate level management and spent 18 years in senior level management, helping to shape, direct and execute company strategies.

Skeets holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William & Mary in Virginia. His professional designations include the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) granted by the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. Skeets was previously a member of the National Association of Life Underwriters, The General Agents and Manager's Association and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. He has served on the Board of Directors of Crittendon Services in Nashville and is the President of the Villas D' Monaco Homeowners Association.
